I am posting for the sake of posting. So bear with me. Whitney and I finally made it to a church today. It was ok. After church we ate at a cafe that is on this little stretch of Greenville that is almost like BRK. I miss the Bay Area. There are cool spots here but the vibe is seriously lacking.
There is a Buffalo X Change next to the Cafe and as our Plano friends pointed out the street almost rises up a bit like it could be on a hill.
I am working 3-10:30 Mon-Fri, and am in school from 7:45-215 Tues-Weds. Then there is the homework. I don't know when I am going to do homework. God never gives us more than we can handle so I am trusting Him to make a way for me.
This semester is going to be the semester of fun. My mom and Dad are coming out in Feb. Brad and Sage are probably going to visit soon after that. Then our small group is planning to go on a weekend retreat in March. April we are off to Portland where I get the opportunity to speak at Jon's retreat. That will be great!
When I think of all that we have going on I realize that our lives are pretty full and we are blessed. I am also thankful for Coffee. I am also thankful for good food, and the specialty department at my Store. I am thankful for the friends that we are making here. It's funny cause when you are getting to know others, there are times when you feel compatible and then there are times when it's awkward. But better to be awkward with other people than to walk alone.
My favorite class right now is BE101, taught by Howard Hendricks. He actually teaches with passion. One quote that sticks out is "We don't need a second anybody, what we need is the first you." He also insists that the only two books anyone needs in their library are a Bible without notes and a good concordance.
I am pretty surprised by Greek. I enjoy studying it, even though it is hard.
A guy named Jeff in our SF group is having a kidney transplant on Tues. Ever tried to be there for someone going through one of those? Yeah neither have we. Just praying that God will show us ways to care for him and his wife.
My plate is full, and for that I am thankful.
