2 years....

North Shore Hawaii Dec. 2006

Yesterday was our 2nd anniversary. I love Whitney more today than I ever have before. When God created Whitney he created the perfect wife for me. We have had a lot of adventures just in the two years that we have been together. We travel a lot, and have had lots of opportunities to minister together. Some of them fun, others challenging. We moved cross country together. We have been to Hawaii, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. Whitney finished college during our first year of marriage while working part time. We have always had spacious apartments in relatively quiet and safe complexes. God has given us friends wherever we have lived. We have always had enough and have never lacked for food, or clothing, or money to pay the bills. We are always learning how to love each other and are getting to know each other better every day. Whitney is extremely devoted to being the best wife that she can be. She is always thinking about me and making sure that she is taking care of me. She is very good at helping me to be a better person as well. She is not afraid to call me out. She loves the Lord and is constantly seeking to know Him more intimately. She is very sensitive to the Holy Spirit and seeks to be obedient to whatever He speaks to her heart. She really cares for her friends and intercedes for the people that she loves. She is always looking for ways to share her faith with those she would be encouraged by it. She is extremely devoted to family and loves both mine and hers with all of her heart. She exercises regularly, and buys a variety of healthy foods so that we stay in shape. She loves finding bargains and and decorates our house so that it feels like a home. I could probably keep going, but the bottom line is I love this woman and I am so thankful that she is my wife. 2 years may not be that long, but as her coworker said "you have made it two years.. you gonna make it to 50!!" I could easily be married to Whitney 50x50 more years, each one better than before I'm sure.

I don't mean this in a bad way, but you both remind me of my grandparents. They got married over fifty years ago and stayed married without a hitch. Two years is no easy task and is definitely something to be proud of. Congratulations for two years and many more to come!

Andy & Whitney,
Just to let you know the family standard: My mom's brother and her 3 sisters have all been married for over 60 years now. She and Grandpa just celebrated their 58th anniversary. You all are on your way to maybe 70+ years if you keep up the way you are. Congratulations! What a great way to live.
