Bring It

I am in class this week. 8-5. A one week class on Genesis-Judges. It has been pretty rad to look at all these books one after another in such a short time. It also helps motivate me a little for my Hebrew class I will start in a couple of weeks. I am going to submit my first sermon next week. Something I hope to do more of when given optional projects.

The more I read the Bible the more I love it. For this class we have to chart at least two of the books that we are studying. When you chart a book you basically organize its contents so that you get a feel for the overall flow of the text. They take a while to produce, but when you are done you feel like you have ownership of that book. The best part is that if you go back and re-chart you will likely see things that you did not before, and produce a chart that highlights aspects of the text that you did not catch before. I've linked the chart I did this week for Numbers. So that if you want to see what I am talking about you can.

As we have gone through the Old Testament there is always debate over the text and errors, editing etc. Whatever. I know that anyone who reads the text by faith will be edified by what is recorded. The story of how God not only created man, but also had a plan for choosing from among sinful men a people to be His treasured possession for all eternity is the most amazing story. I could read it again an again and never get tired of hearing how great God's love is for those that believe in Him.
