I love this picture. It evokes fear, respect, admiration, love. A smiling shark. Powerful enough to tear me to pieces, peacefully floating in cool blue waters. I don't know why, I just love it.
This week has been nuts. The most significant thing that happened is that Whitney and I resigned our commander post with Awana. It was cool, and would have been great to stay involved, but there is just no way that I could pass any of my classes, lead SF, work full time and have a meaningful relationship with my wife.
Whitney was instrumental in helping me admit this. It was humbling, but reality is reality. I am in my 3rd semester of Greek, and 1st of Hebrew. I have 3 other theology/Bible exposition classes and all of them are suffering right now. I am a zombie much of the time and a lot of what I am studying isn't sinking in because I am running around all the time.
So I am cutting back. Whitney and I are going to focus on our SF group as our ministry for now. That is enough. The people in our group are really cool and the more that we meet the more I look forward to meeting with them. Tonight one of our couples announced that they were pregnant! I was so stoked. That is rad! They are only 6 weeks in and the baby has a heart beat. What a trip. It will be cool to walk with them through this.
I am gonna have to work really hard to catch up with school. I am very thankful for my wife. God constantly uses her to shape me and challenge me. Her devotion to the Lord and her love for me have been a huge blessing!

I know how that goes, man. Sometimes we all need to take a breather. Focusing on the studies always takes priority over jobs at first. It'll definitely pay off though. Have a great week.
