STORMS

This picture is probably the #1 reason I would live in Kansas. Some of the strongest storms, with the highest wind speeds on the planet. But the picture is also how I feel in light of several recent events that have all been challenging, stressful, and discouraging. I am on the road and there is a storm ahead..

The most recent was learning that an individual whose ministry I respect and who I admire is no longer involved with said ministry because of some sort of moral failure. This was a blow that I have not had an easy time shaking off. (not the moral failure, I am pretty much numb to that having already experienced several of those) It just brings me down when I think about it. I also get angry because I am tired of people getting eaten alive while pursuing God's call on their life. One more gifted person out of the fight. Especially sad for the Bay where taking any ground for the Kingdom is virtually impossible.

What has been weirder is that when I learned about it my first response was that I wanted to somehow get in touch with the guy and let him know that I would still do ministry with him. I hate how sin can so quickly destroy a lifetime of fruitful ministry. After David sinned he was still the king.

Needless to say news like this does not do wonders for those who are preparing with their wives for a lifetime of ministry.

Sorry things are rough. Praying of course.

Andrew, somehow we have to separate the response of people from the response of God to these situations. It is people who chew each other up. God is much more redemptive than people are. Don't let people obscure your view of God. He covicts the offender of sin, accepts his repentence and then forgives him and moves on to redeem the situation. God is so able to redeem and restore that He can turn everything around and make it good. HE is who you serve, not people.

I'm sorry for getting all instructive in my last comment. You have just suffered a big loss and I am very sad for you. Very sad.
