BTW

Today in Texas, it was totally grey, but 90 degrees all day. While at work I kept thinking about how incredibly horrible it is to see grey but get tropical strength sapping heat. The flipside of course is that in the winter here the sky will be brilliantly clear but the temperature will be 20 degrees. So hard to adjust to.

Also Whitney and I are continuing to pursue the Awana leadership opportunity at our church. It is intimidating because it will be time consuming and is an important piece of the children's ministry at our church. However, when Whitney and I were considering how busy we would be if we added Awana we both concluded that being busy (especially when busy includes serving other people) is a good thing because if you have to much free time you naturally tend to live for yourself. Spending most of your free time and money on yourself and that never seems to be as gratifying and giving your time and money to other people for their benefit.

There are certain practical considerations that we don't have nailed down yet. However we are trusting God to provide for each of our needs because we believe that He is the one who has called us and He will take care of our every need.

I am hoping that one way He will provide is a moped so I can commute to our church which is located well beyond my current cycling range.

you should get a real bicycle, you'll be shocked at how much further you can ride on a good road bike, even a single-speed one.

That would be nice, however the infrastructure in Dallas does not support those who ride their bikes. For example, when viewing apartments before moving I told the manager I was planning to ride my bike to WFM less than 2 miles away. He laughed and exclaimed "nobody rides their bikes in Dallas". No to mention the lack of state income tax is conducive to the birth and spread of car-wrecking/bike obliterating potholes. Yes, the distance is reasonable for cycling but only for those who are fortunate to live in the future (read California)
