In this election year I have been asked many times who I am for. I dislike this question for a number of reasons...I have had some difficulty explaining why until now, thanks in large part to Tom.
"...the myth of progress. Many people particularly politicians and secular commentators in the press an elsewhere, still live by this myth, appeal to it, and encourage us to believe it. Indeed the demise of serious political discourse to day consist not least in this, that the politicians are still trying to whip up enthusiasm for their versions of this myth- it's the only discourse they know, poor things- while the rest of us have moved on....That is why the relentlessly modernist and progressivist projects that the politicians feel obliged to offer us have to be dressed up with the relentlessly postmodernist techniques of spin and hype: in the absence of real hope, all that is left is feelings. Persuasion will not work because we will never believe it. What we appear to need, and therefore what people give us, is entertainment. Our politicians demand to be treated as rock stars while our rock stars (movies stars etc.) are pretending to be politicians. "
(Hope, 83)
So if you would still like to know who I am for.... Ron Paul. In a sea of mediocre verbal vommit regarding the myth of progress his voice still stands out. His ideas/policies may seem extreme, but at least they offer something different to the party line that is towed by the obamcaintons.

"Persuasion will not work because we will never believe it." hahaha...i'm laughing because of how true this feels to me...funny about him saying there only being "feelings" left,...I think that is exactly where I am. Thanks for sharing, I'm glad to have this in my brain with all the other muck to gum on.
Andy, I don't know how to reply to comments, but I got yours and wanted to let you know I'm glad you stopped by. Hope you guys continue to read it. I read yours and Whitney's (hope she doesn't mind!). I do all my blog reading during lunch break.
We miss you!!
Maya
someone in the media said that obama rallies were looking more like revivals than political meetings, very emotional. That reminded me that most people are really like sheep, make em fat and keep them happy and they wont complain. oh for a thinking generation.
