Go and do something about it!

In these difficult financial times I am tired of people asking, "what is the government going to do about this mess?" Why don't we ask instead what are we going to do about it? The last thing we need is another injection of cash that we have already demonstrated we have no idea how to handle. We are like a bunch of spoiled wealthy children who have no idea the value of a dollar. Until we do we should not give any more handouts!!!!! We need to suffer, we need to be poor, we need to see more people (even whole families) on the streets because as was demonstrated in the first depression those who experience suffering dig deep and find a way to pull together and through hard work and innovation build a better future for their children.

I remember seeing Mayor Bloomberg of NY on TV last December, telling people to get out and shop. He said "shops needs your business, and you, well, there's things you need to buy". That really stroke a cord, it was so pathetic. We are junkies. Consumerism is our drug and shopping is our fix. Of course we need to keep buying so our economy does not collapse, so that we don't go into withdrawal. Withdrawal is not fun, and it can take our lives away, that's why as junkies we gotta keep buying.

I think things will get very ugly pretty soon. I think I'm OK with being poor, it won't be the first time nor the last one that I experience it. What scares me is the idea of violence when people start becoming desperate.
